Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 September 2026

TrustMyQuote is operated by James Cumberlidge in the United Kingdom. This policy explains what happens to information when you use the TrustMyQuote app and website.

In short: TrustMyQuote does not require an account. Quote files are sent for analysis when you ask us to check them. Analysis history is stored locally on your device.

Information you provide

When you use the quote-checking feature, you choose a photograph, image or PDF containing a garage quote. The file may contain information supplied by the garage or information relating to you or your vehicle. You should avoid uploading information that is not needed for the analysis.

How quote analysis works

Your selected quote is transmitted securely to the TrustMyQuote backend for processing and is then provided to OpenAI's API to generate the analysis. TrustMyQuote uses third-party infrastructure and AI processing services, including Render and OpenAI, to provide this feature.

OpenAI states that data submitted through its API is not used to train its models by default. Retention and processing by third-party providers are governed by their applicable service terms, policies and any configured data-retention controls.

History on your device

Successful analysis results can be saved in the app's History on your device. TrustMyQuote does not copy the original quote image or PDF into that History. The app currently keeps up to 50 saved analysis results locally. You can delete individual results or clear your History from within the app.

Accounts and cloud history

TrustMyQuote does not currently require you to create an account and does not provide a TrustMyQuote cloud account for synchronising your analysis History between devices.

Why we process information

We process the quote you choose to submit because it is necessary to provide the analysis you request. We may also process limited technical information where necessary to operate, secure and troubleshoot the service.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared with service providers only where needed to operate TrustMyQuote, including hosting/infrastructure and AI-processing providers.

Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect information handled by the service. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Local History remains on your device until you delete it, clear app data, or remove the app, subject to your device's own backup behaviour. Third-party processing and retention are subject to the relevant provider arrangements and policies.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights relating to your personal information, including rights to access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection. Some rights may not apply where TrustMyQuote does not hold information that can be linked back to you.

Children

TrustMyQuote is intended as a consumer utility for people arranging or considering vehicle repair work. It is not designed as a service directed at children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as TrustMyQuote develops or if our processing practices change. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated date.
